Who watches the Watchmen

"I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls. My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat." - JOB chapter 30, verses 29-30

"Until we transform our mere sightings into genuine visions; until our ear is mature enough to order a symphony from the shrill pandemonium of the aviary; until then we may have a hobby, but we shall not have a passion." - Alan Moore

Will the Watchmen film stand up to Alan Moore's original story? I hear he has already expressed discontent with the adaptation, but what artist is content when they sell their work, and someone else is allowed to "adapt" it?

Earlier today I saw Watchmen graffiti in the bathroom of a convenience store in Brenham, Texas, very ominous.

What a night

King James next year in Dallas at the 2010 dunk contest?
Rudy Fernandez robbed of his points with his second dunk? Alley oop off of the back of the backboard for the one handed reverse jam.
Dwight Howard dunked over by 5', 9" Robinson, ridiculous.
Superman Dwight Howard out of the phone booth for the 12' plus jam!
Kenny Smith and Reggie Miller talk a lot of trash, and anyone get the sense they hold some type of animosity for one another?
Congratulations Daequan Cook on your underdog 3-point Shootout victory, quieting the peanut gallery.
Von Wafer, Brooks, Battier, or Artest of the Houston Rockets for the 3-point Shootout in Dallas next year?
To Kirk Bohls of the Austin American Statesman; February is a dull month for sports? All Star Weekend, playoff level basketball going into the break and intensity that will continue all the way until the N.B.A. Finals, real athletes and a league that's media coverage isn't saturated with ridiculous and boring drug accusations. Just ask Josh Howard.
Check out the highlights , and read Bohls's column about the boring month of February where he slams basketball and NASCAR.

2 for the thumb!!!

Two for the thumb! Go Steelers. I know they were favored, but hey. Congratulations Pittsburgh.

Quick draw BART cop uses asinine defense

Recently I have read in the Austin American Statesman that Officer Mehserle's defense, the one who shot and murdered Oscar Grant of Oakland on a B.A.R.T. platform at pointblank range, has now pleaded accidental murder and inexperience, because he really meant to pull his non-lethal taser gun instead of his service revolver? What kind of country are we living in when an officer of the law who is supposed to "protect and serve," and is payed to do so by the taxpayers of his/her respective state does not know the difference between lethal and non-lethal force, or know when to use either force when dealing with an unarmed suspect? This attempt at litigation is a travesty, and an insult to our intelligence, not to mention disrespectful to Mr. grant's family and loved one's.
